Been a busy old week so I thought i’d share some of the great articles/sites I have come across this week.
Homepage: The guy on the left is not me by the way, its Donavon Frankenreiter, read on to find out why.
1. XML/jQuery
Really nice quick post by the guys over at NetTuts. On a side note, the recently renamed Envato seem to be taking over the net. They now run FlashDen, AudioTuts, NetTuts, PSDTuts, and the new ThemeForest, of which i’m lucky enough to be a BETA tester. It’s going to be huge!
Anyways, jQuery seems to be quickly becoming the javascript library of choice, and this simple tutorial outlines one of the reasons why…

2. Premium Wordpress Theme Paradox
Upstart Blogger is one of my regular reads, and there was a great article this week discussing premium themes. I haven’t really put a huge amount of thought into it myself, but its an interesting topic. I think a lot of people take open source for granted sometimes, and the article got me thinking about some of the business models behind some of the big open source projects.

3. iPhone PSD
The iPhone really has raised the bar for designers, and given us a whole new problem when designing. Of course, the iPhone is meant to have a fully functioning browser, but Facebook really showed the world how to design for the iPhone, and showed the possibilites.
I use iPhoney when testing new sites, but this PSD from the guys at Teehanlax looks like it will come in very useful at the prototype stage.

4. DustMe
(Another) great new firefox extension, this time released by Sitepoint.
DustMe will crawl the CSS file of any site to see which selectors aren’t being used. Great when you hack an open source Wordpress template to bits, and have loads of CSS selectors left over.

Extra Tip
For anyone who hasn’t listened to it yet, you have to check out the new album from Donavon Frankenreiter, link to Amazon here…
